Putting tune in

Before I put the 91 or 93 (I forgot witch one is in my tuner)octane tune in my car. I should have my car running on the higher octane gas first?

Yes absolutly. If you don't, you risk knocking. You have 87oct in now? Run it as low as you can go, then fill it with 93, run at least another half tank, then install the tune while you are filling up with the 93(or whatever).

can you change the timing by advancing it if you put in higher octane fuel then? Will it make any difference.

And as far as the fuel goes I would just put in the higher octane just for the peace of mind.

What would a higher octane tune change if it wasn't the timing?
