The biggest reason I shy away from GT catbacks is because I don't have the GT rear bumper, but I'm assuming that the shop will be able to work around that problem. I found a great deal on a h-pipe for my car ($100), so now its just a matter of catback. I'm kinda bouncing between macs and flowmaster. I've heard flowmaster has some drone problems, and mac has some rusting problems (only on aluminized catback though). Right now I'm guessing it would be best to go with mac, but what do you guys think?

This should be my last question in reguards to my exhaust system. I found two different sellers of the same cat-back, but one is labeled for a v6 w/ h-pipe, and the other is labeled for the GT of the same year as my car. Are they the same system with the exception of the exhaust tips, or will the v6 w/ h-pipe version fit better than the GT version? Here are all the possible combos for my system:

you will need longer hangers for the tips for the gt cat back. it still bolts on though.

I've probably posted this about 40 times on the forum now and I apologize for it but since it is relevant - my local shop is giving me true dual exhaust (no y-pipe but pipes from each header) with a crossover (x-pipe) and Flowmaster 40s for $200.

That is about $300 less than most catback systems alone not counting their installation.

I am however considering using Borla Pro XS mufflers instead of the Flowmasters though.

Oh man, that's a sweet deal! Why Borla instead of Flowmaster 40s?

Borlas are to high IMO and way to expensive cause they use aircraft metal to make everything.

Quieter hwy driving and a different sound than everyone else. I haven't decided yet as my local shop is checking to see what price they can get the Borlas for.

they aren't quieter at all on the highway they are high pitched at like 22-2500 rpm. It is easier to drown out but if you hear it it is annoying.

Considering that I will be around 3500 - 4K while on the hwy I guess the Borlas are out. A buddy of mine has them and they sounded good to me but he was just idleing and revving up not sustaining at a high rpm.

yeah I mean they don't sound bad, but they get this little whistle or squeal and it is annoying.

Yeah, they sounded very good to me and were very quiet at idle. I never heard a whine but like I said it wasn't at a sustained high rpm either.
