Upgrading a Stock V6 Auto
Hey guys, I have been reading the forums for almost a month now, and have had some good questions answered. The car I have right now is a stock 1995 V6 Mustang Convertible. The engine has 151,000 + Miles on it. What I would like to know is what you guys think I should start modding, If I should drop a new engine in there, and if so, what kind of stuff should I be looking for. I am new to working with cars, this is only my second. Don't know much about Mustangs except for what I have read in these forums. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

do you want to keep it a v6 or make it a v8? i would not mod a 151k mile motor. you could get a 4.2L stroker v6 from your core block from a place like supersixmotorsports, or you could swap a 351W or better yet, a 4.6L DOHC cobra motor in. get the wiring harness, transmission, rear end, and suspension and you have a kickass street car. depends on your budget though.

yea, i knew i wasnt gonna be moddin an engine that wasnt gonna last me
I was already looking at some 4.2l strokers to put in. My school blocks supersixmotors and i never remember to do it at home I definetly dont have the cash to make it a V8, i heard that it would be cheaper to just buy a GT.

it would be cheaper, but not a 351W... those are popular street/strip motors to swap in to any year mustang. your year had the 5.0L option. this motor will bolt to your tranny, but the 5.0 (302) is not as powerful as the 351W

if you have $2000 to spend on an engine, greenfaleen (it htink it was him) has been talking about a site that sells 4.2 strokers with forged internals pushing 250hp... not a bad proce for a forged internal engine with that much hp

shipping your probably gonna want to talk to the shop that is doing the work and have them get it delivered there moving an engine is hard not just something you can throw in the trunk. Shipping depends on if you send them your old core and such.
