Car wont start

alright i know ill probally get yelled at for this but my problem is not with a mustang (they are was too bad ass to ever break). My problem is with an 04 impala, and i didnt know where else to find an answer and i figured someone on MM would know the answer as it probally applies to mustangs as well. The car will turn over but it will not start. We try jumpstarting it for over 15 minutes and i dont think the problem is with the battery. Any ideas would be greatly appreaciated. And my friend( owner of the car had just driven the car 15 minutes earlier so it seems really weird)

Also on my 99 mustang my air does not work at all, any ideas on that????

k when you jump it does it start? if it does its the battery or alternator/ when you turnt he key in the ignition do you still have lights and dash lights coming on? then the battery is fine and it'e the alternator. also check the distributer cap and look for cracks or wear on the contact pads

When i jump it it wont start. And when im jumping it from my car and it still wont start wouldnt it mean that it isnt the alternator? and also if it was the starter, it wouldnt do anything when i turned the key would it??? Is there any way to positively find out what the problem is??

its not the alternator. if it was a bad alternator, it would start and run for about 10 seconds and then die. if it was the starter, it wouldnt even turn over. Like GF said, its a chevy, problem solved.

Bad wires???? The car is 2004 and in great condition and she drove it 15 minutes prior to having the problem. It wouldnt be the wires cuz the starter is still turning all the pullies and everything, and it couldnt be the spark plug wires cuz the car would start if just one of them was bad, and there is no way all six wires went bad in 15 mins.

well the alernator wires wouldnt matter would they because i tried jumpstarting it from my car and it wouldnt even start at all, and the starter is still turning over, it just wont start. My thoughts were possibly the fuel pump???? but i dont that much about cars.

Fuel pump is a good thought, maybe fuel filter too? Try starter fluid, i had this problem with a car before and starter fluid did the trick.
