Procharger
Ok so I finally will have the money to buy a procharger this spriing. I got 2k right now and with work i will make enough.
The first thing that i want to know is how do the prochargers handle with cold weather? that is my only big concern cuz i live in a place where i have to drive my car in the winter and it gets cold out. As long as i change the oil in the unit regularly at the intervals should i be fine?

alright sweet!!!! thanks. ok so i got a couple more questions. I was looking at the different options. I have a couple questions. I plan on right now just running the d1sc upgrade at maybe 11psi? would that be safe on stock internals? So what size injectors should i get? Oh and is the 2 core intercooler fine? Cuz where I live it is never really warm, it is usually 70 in the summer maybe 80

Turbo
> Vortech > Procharger Ask stangcharger, with procharger you'll be rebuilding it , leaky seals will happen, its just not fun and less efficient

idk they seem like a good quality kit. ok, well i know for sure that i do not want a turbo.
well what are pros and cons of the procharger vs. the vortech? try to keep opinions out of it, but if you have things like ones more efficeint one makes more power, stuff like that and cons. thanks it will help a lot before i invest 4 k into it.

The seals only blow becuse the oil builds pressure in the head unit when it gets to hot. There is a solution for that. You can vent the excess pressure with a peice of vac hose and a fuel filter...not a problemb.
If you go with the 11psi rated pulley(3.6")with the d1 you will be boosting close to 15-16psi. With a 4.0" pulley and the d1 put me at 10.5 psi and 300rwhp/308 rwtq. The 2core is a good intercooler...90* days running at the track my intake temps rarelly reached 105* with the throttle wide open. I'm now running a griffen 3core race cooler...not that I had to but because it is aluminum and I want to spray meth preblower to keep the temps down on the blower so it doesnt heat soak. You will make 30-40 more hp on these cars with the procharger than vortech because it's intercooled. Also the d1 spools much faster that other centri's IMO. I see 5psi at 2500rpm on a 80* day with the 3.6" pulley through the 2core ic.

Actually a few cars with the same mods and boost procharged vs vortech, the vortech cars only seem to be 10-15hp behind the procharged cars. The vortech head units are more efficient
And this is coming from somebody who hates them both, I would much rather go turbo.

How much boost do you want to run?? Who do you plan to order your kit through?? I would advise to call and speak with a tech at procharger to find out what pulley combo you will need to run to reach your goals.
My advice is to go for the gusto and run the 3.6 straight out the gate. If you swap your pulley later that voids the 3yr warranty. The 3.6 will put you at about 330-340 with the d1.

Not a good post man. the P1sc or noted to have leaking seals they are well built superchargs. One of the best. Adn they are VERY EFFICIENT esp with intercoolers. And Turbo is a very broad statement. Also the Procharger is self-contained so no drilling is the oil pan.

I kind of like the self contained idea. it makes it easier to install the kit, plus then you do not have to worry about debris from your oil pan getting into your supercharger, unless vortech uses some kind of filter on their oil line? idk.
ok, well here is my only downside right now to vortech is they are not intercooled in the kits. How much would it cost to get an intercooled vortech kit? jc.

The other thing to consider is if your going to do a windstar intake. Skatefreaks looks rather changed than originally installed. Mine took two pipes provided by VAP and hook right up.
Intercooler can be had for $70 bucks or so.

Procharger oil only costs 30bucks for 3 oil changes. That will last over 24,000 miles. Plus procharger gives you 5 oil changes on the house when you buy their kit. I bought my kit over 18 months ago and still have 2 bottles left.
You get 6oz per bottle and procharger recomends using the entire 6oz bottle...only problemb with that is the oil will read over the max fill. So I just add as needed to get the oil in the middle of the dip stick. 3bottles= 4 oil changes doing it this way. The procharger d1sc is the best centri for these cars and will out perform vorteck straight out the box...With the vortech you have to snake the tubing to the front for an ic setup. You have to make a 90* bend coming out the outlet because of the way vortecj set it up...It's a shitty design. The d1sc has a max efficency of 62,000rpm and flows 1400cfm. That would boost your stock motor to over 25psi with a 2.9" pulley and 6000rpm. More than enough power to reach over 600 at the crank. I have yet to see anyone do this with the t-trim without nitrous on these cars. You will be hard pressed to reach 300hp with the s-trim without an intercooler. If you go with the p1 you will be at 300-320 with the 3.6" pulley and exhaust. 330-340 with the d1.
