Not starting after rebuild

Just had both heads off a 95 V6 and now she is refusing to start. The engine is trying to fire, I believe I now have compression on all six cylinders. gotta check in a bit to make sure I have spark, (and fuel was undisturbed). Is there any way at all that the engine or ignition timing could have been disturbed? anybody know of similar problems, or known faults? for example, what would happen if the coil pack was on its way out? ANY hints or ideas for what to check are welcome as its got me totaly confused now.

Many thanks

Make sure you have the plug wires on the coil properly ... it is numbered in a strange pattern............. also check your plug wires and ensure they are connected to the correct plugs.

It ran ok before the gasket went, as far as I can tell we didn't do anything to disturb the timing. I've just had all six plugs out, plugged into the leads and then placed against the engine. Turned her over and plugs 2+4 weren't sparking at all. changed plugs around and they came to life the next time I tried. Next thing is to look at the timing feed going into the coil (make sure thats set correctly, if there is any way to check). then replace plugs and try again.

You really should check the sparkplug wires.
