Strut Tower Brace?
What are you guys opinion on a strut tower brace? I blow an eibach damper and was wondering is the brace would have anything to do with it. I also ordered c/c places to install with the new damper goes in.

I was told they're next to worthless. I'm not sure though.

They only really work if you really work them, that is, if you dive hard in to turns. What they do is keep the cowl of the car from flexing relative to the wheels in addition to doing what it sounds like it does which is brace the shock towers. It keeps them from moving towards each other in hard turns and during hard driving in general. It does take some of the squeaks and rattles out of the car. Maximum Motorsports makes a good one. The are great if you have front coilovers.
Whenever you brace a car you are increasing the stiffness of the "5th" spring, which is the body. Also, don't expect to notice too much of a difference unless you've put in a k-member brace and full length subframe connectors. Rear braces ONLY work if you have coilovers in the rear. In that case, you'd be better off making one of your own. Make sure it braces the rear shock towers to the floor of the car and to each other. Caster kits have nothing but benefits in every way. -Zach

Z pretty much summed it up, I think they are a nice addition to the under the hood look, as well as a good supporting mod to the front suspension. If your aim is corner carving its a near necessity, however not the main key there. For a normal DD, you probably won't even notice a difference if you took it off/on/off/on.
