Suspension mods
Ok so I just put some new gears and a tlok in. I am curious about what suspension mods to get this spring. I already plan on buying subframe connectors. I am looking for a decent ride since I drive it daily and I want to make it mostly for drag racing. I am looking at getting lower control arms, and if I do should I get uppers? or do they not make that big of a difference. Im also looking at getting eibach drag shocks. Would these be a pretty good start as far as my suspension goes?

I don't think anyone believes the IRS was ever meant for drag racing because of wheel hop. However, i put one in my car, replaced all the rubber bushings with Delrin and aluminum, put Bilsteins on it and even with POS Goodyear GS tires that are KNOWN to hop on any car, i don't get any perceptable hop. Plus I got the benefit of the 8.8 rear.
I drive my car every day and for that reason I put in the IRS. It rides like no other and even with the rigid bushings I haven't noticed an increase in NVH. I still have the rubber subfame bushings and that would be why. I spent about $2k putting it in my car including all the bushings and bearings I replaced. I'd drop the SRA for the IRS any day unless you were making a dedicated, "trailer it to events" dragster. Spend the SRA money on a used IRS and then put the right bushings in it, you'll pwn. -Zach

ok, but i dont want to go irs, i just rebuilt everything in my rear axle. and plus, i would rather spend the 2k elsewhere. so as far as control arms go, should i get bother uppers and lowers?
also would it be a decent setup if i had new control arms, subframe connectors, and eibach drag springs?

Subframe connectors are a must in any performance mustang. Always. Full Length, make them a priority.
Control arms. There are some good ones out there that free up weight and allow you adjust pinion angle, things like that. It never hurts to upgrade but I dunno if I'd make it a priority just yet. Drag springs, any of them, are funky to drive on every day, weirder if you get the matching shocks. They are hellacious when launching tho and can really let your car hook up.

If you are setting it up for the street/strip than eibachs drag springs are the way to go. Just make sure that you have a good drag radial out back and you will hook pretty decent.
Your biggest thing is going to be the auto. You need to get a stall to get you out the hole quicker.

I have a 5spd so I wont need the converter. And do the drag springs ride close to stock? or are they dramatically different?
