stage 2 clutch upgrade

im ordering a stage 2 clutch soon because my stock one is going bad and i plan on modding my stang which means more hp. i went to a few shops today and asked for some quotes but they also told me that the stage 2 clutch could be hard on the flywheel and that i probably need to replace this plastic piece where u adjust the clutch(have no idea what hes talkin about) with an aluminum one. wat u guys think about this and the stage 2 upgrade

If your not pushing the power for it you probably don't need it, but if you plan on getting to that hp range soon I would get it. I am not a manual guy so some of the others might be on soon to help you out.

Dunno but my buddy's got a GT w/ 445 RWHP on a stock clutch setup for about a year now but it's starting to go bad so gotta be less than 445 HP...

I agree, don't wanna get off topic but he has purchased his clutch as well as some "indestructable" flywheel so the mechanic is right about the flywheel but IDK about any plastic adjuster doo hickey

im lookin in maybe the lower 300's, after a split port swap, that will get me to the current v6 hp then full bolt ons, cams, power pack, im pretty much gonna rebuild me engine because im also gettin up there with miles too. lastly a supercharger. the supercharger may push me higher than that idk, but i guess what i want is a clutch that can handle it now so i dont have to buy a stage one then replace it in a year

I'd say look at the price diff on stock replacement and stage 2 then see if skimping now will make sense knowing you have to pay full price for stage 2 later...

Bah... What's $60 looking at the big picture of your modding roadmap? IMO you should get the stage 2
