first off y they heck would you want to put a c4 in it? I have one and although its good for racing, it totally sucks on the street and long drives.
Anyway to answer more of your questions; your driveshaft will work but you need a c4/t5 slip yoke. The 99+ had the electronic speedo gear so you'll have problems there. The c4 trannys have the mechanical teeth for the speedo gear. Maybe someone on here has done a speedo swap that could help you with that

it was just an idea. i need a tranny but dont feel like spending 300 for a 4r70w than the 170 shift kit and a 150 manual valve body and then 500 for a 2000 stall torque converter and than gears and t loc. Im wanting to add a little get up to the sixer its to slow right now and in college trying to find the cheapest route being money is tough plus paying for school. I was just thinking the c4 might make iot a little quicker. Any one know where i can get a used transmission. The cheapest 4r70w i found was 278 with 70,000 miles on it

yes the v6 tranny will hold up to the 302. They only put out a lil more power than you make now. You will need to make sure you use a flexplate for the 302, for the balancing. The converter will bolt right up. The 4r70w is a strong tranny and has proven up to 500whp, with a jmod and new converter. The stock converter starts slipping in the 300hp range.

ok good im thinking about getting a 302 bored to a 308 port and polished heads with 3 angle valve job small nitrous cam(dont know what size) i have seen this motor run a 8.50 in a 95 mustang with an automatic with overdrive. How much will the v6 tranny and gearing effect this time? Thanks for all the info guys

u must be saying 8.50 in the 1/8 mile right? 302 blocks have been know to split at 500hp or so. If you wanted to drop in a v8, just get a 351 block and stroke it to 410 cid. Our partner in crime builds 410 strokers that run 9s (in the 1/4) on motor.

sorry totally skipped the tranny question. Well if you get a converter that is properly matched to your setup the car will run better. I really dont believe there is any difference in the 4r70ws. Either way you are gonna need like i said above, jmod or aftermarket vb, and converter.

o ok. Cool well i can get this motor for 300 its my cousins and to be exact his time is 8.41 on motor in the 1/8. So as long as i get a valve body and torque converter i should be fine. One more question. What type of converter are you talking about and what type vavle body. Sorry for all the questions i just know how to do it and make the changes and modifications just not sure what would be the best. I will be spraying the car also with about a 125 shot.

is this motor goin in the 2000 mustang? Is the 302 carbed? If not then you have a lot of work ahead of you... Its just not worth the hassle!!!!! At all!!! Im not sure if the 302 will drop right in your kmember. I know when they changed from the 302 to the 281(4.6) platform they changed k members too.
For the tranny crap contact bc-automotive, Darrin knows his stuff

A 302 is going to be a waste of time. Go with 4.6pi or dohc. If your impressed with a 302...you will damn sure be impressed with a boosted or sprayed 6...4.2 with a cam would be the sweet spot imo....and a whole hell of alot easier to swap in.

hey if your interested...just a thought. i have a 2001 v6 auto tranny laying around currently in the garage. It was pulled from the 01 with about 75k on it and shifts beautifully, just needs a new torque converter anyway but its all there. I picked it up from a combo with a motor, trans ect from a guy that did a 4.6 swap in his 01 v6. if your interested shoot me a PM ill let it go for really anything its no use for me.
