2 New Noises

1. I'm getting a whining noise through the speakers when I have music playing. It started not too long ago and it gets more noticeable as RPMs increase. Alternator I'm guessing. Does it need to be replaced?

2. I'm getting a clacking sort of noise between 1400-1900 RPMs. It happens mostly in 1st gear, a little in second, and a little in neutral. I popped the hood the other day and manually revved the engine until I got it to start "clacking." The sound seems to be coming from the front of the engine by the pullies. I can't determine which pulley it is for sure, but is there one that's known for issues such as this?

first noise is probably bad ground. do you have a system? i'm not sure about the pulley question

My entire sound system is stock. Where would be the most likely place for a bad ground?

Speaker(s) may be going out, I would check all the wiring first, but may need to replace speaker(s).

well i was going to say ground from system but nvm.. do you have any other added electronics? i might have suggestion for problem 2, do you have stock exhaust?

Only electronic added is accent lighting. I need to redo the wiring for that as I was in a hurry to get it done but everything seemed secure. And I have stock headers, stock midpipe (modified into dual exhaust), flowmaster 40 mufflers, and 3" tips.

lmk after you rewire it. if you have heat shield still on exhaust it could be rattling against exhaust? if not find friend with mustang and switch out pulleys

Alright I'm just waiting on the weather to warm up to really do much work on the car. Not sure if I have the heat shield still on but I definitely don't have any friends with Mustangs. All my friends are too poor to buy one or too "practical" to want anything but a 4 door or something with "great" gas mileage. I'll be looking into UPDs this spring though.

I gOt that same whine that you are describing, but I also have a system in my car (which was probably the cause)... I hear that the noise is nothing to worry about because it is just feedback, but it is most likely caused from a bad ground in your wiring
