Carbonwire Cobra R Hood latch issue

So i traded a guy a transmission for this "2000 Cobra R" style hood for 94-98 stangs. well it stalls just fine on the hinges but when i got to close the hood it wont latch and stay shut. now my Chiltons claims there to be two bolts that can be loosened to adj the lactch. well these bolts come lose but there are dowls in place that keep the latch from moving. im stumped on how to get this hood to latch. stupid things is my oem hood latched just damn fine! Any help, advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just ditch the lat h and get pins, you are better off with them anyways

hmm well the stupid things is that there are pins in it but there in the middle on the hood for placement. i was hoping to go for a clean oem look with the latch. Do you know of a way besides pins to get it to close?

the oem latches fine, this one will not lock at all. the latch has no way to be adjusted either

steal pin? it has the strike for it built into the hood. the stock hood just latched up fine, the guy said his buddy had it on his v6 and it fit just fine on his. im really getting frustrated with this now.

god please dont do this. thats a good way to break a fiberglass hood

if you take some pics of everything you are working with we might be able to get a better idea of whats going on. i know with my hood i have to let the safety part catch then give it a good shove closed. then i slide my pins and stuff through after the latch is closed.
