swapping to a v8 is alot more than just putting in a new motor man. your going to need like a new k member, trans i think, ecu, harness, tons of stuff. its going to be cheaper to go FI on our v6s. plus if you were going to swap to a v8, i would at least do a 5.4 4V

Ok, well as far as swapping to a v8 that is pretty stock or built. It is going to cost you probably close to 15k with the cost of motor, and the cost of install, and also depending on how high performance you are building the v8. Then you will be at maybe 300rwhp. Or you could go right now with your stock six, and buy a turbo kit, and run 9-11psi of boost and be between 300-360rwhp. The turbo maybe costs 5k at most.

He could swap in the pi4.6 for about 2-3k. dohc would cost a couple grand more.
This is doing the work hisself.

It may not be exact, but he will need to get the motor, 5k,all of the misc parts 2k, the upgraded rear 1k, then all the installation for that, inclucing pulling all of the wiring from the ecu, and putting in a new ecu, and wiring, since the sensors are a lot different, unless they have a new kit, which i do not know. then you will have to put new exhaust on. it is a lot a lot of work. by the time he invested that money into his car, he could have made his v6 have 400+ hp, or sold his car and bought a really nice gt, or a cobra.

If you want to really do an engine swap, the easiest bet would be swapping in a carb motor. any fuel injected motor is going to take a lot of work, unless you go with a 4.3 v6

it would be a pain in the ass to go from a fuel injected engine to a carb engine as well
