Aluminum flywheel has a bad vibe
I've been told the same thing by most tuning shops around here. I was really set on it for a while.
Racing starter, lighter battery, a lighter Steeda K member, coil overs for the front struts, aluminum upper and lower rear control arms all appear to be better options for saving weight than most rotating parts. You could get a V6 manual under 3000 lbs with these parts. The drive shaft remains a good question. I think I want the composite over aluminum but wow is it expensive @ $900! It would not be to save weight. There is no speed limiter on my car thanks to SCT Livewire so I'm always worried about the 110 MPH rating on the stock drive shaft. I have discovered it is good for 130 MPH indicated but for how long?

I put an alum. driveshaft in my car to see if it would help minimize the vibrations I was feeling while cruising in 5th gear on the highway. And indeed it did.

American Muscle or Latemodelrestoration. They both have them. I just got the driveshaft for the 94-95 5.0.

Nobody ever said stock V6s weren't nice...we just said they're slow. And if you disagree, I don't know what to say. I just rode in my friends 2009 V6 and it was very disappointing...especially since I did work to my car. I didn;t even remember what a stock V6 felt like, and that one had probably 20 more horses than mine did stock.

2nd gear pulls so shitty on the 4speed when you first shift into it, on the 5speed auto when it shifts to 2nd its already in the powerband like 4500rpms

Automatics used to be a major handicap
From 1964.5 to about 2005, the automatic was a handicap to acceleration regardless of engine size or model. Year after year, test results typically show a second or more difference in the 0 to 60 time. For pre-2005 Mustangs, swapping to a manual will give higher rwhp and torque on the dyno. This swap is just enough of a big job that I think most probably accept the automatic and make the best of it.
I wish people would buy more manual transmission cars. Now that the latest automatics are just as good or better than manuals the balance will likely swing to even fewer manual transmission cars being sold. Even if the benefits have been erased, I still find driving a manual to be a lot more fun.

I raced an 05+ v6 that the guy said was stock. He blew me out of the water. NO joke I had gears everything. All I know was he had a shaker hood and exhaust, but I think he had a SC on it cuz I could hear one well not for long as he blew by me.

The 4r70w isn't a slouch for an auto either really, gets praises at the track and can be improved with a shift kit. Not that I'd ever take an auto over manual but I think its exaggerated how much it lags behind a manual, if you've got a less than perfect driver in the manual, the auto will take it all else equal.

An aluminum flywheel wouldn't be bad for a dd unless you drive up a lot of hills.
