Options for Divorced duals?
I had a shop fab up some dual exhuast a while back, thinking I was getting an H pipe. I was satisfied with the sound, until I heard another 6er around town that sounded so much better. I checked under my car, and I definately do not have an H or X pipe. Just divorced duals. My exhaust is quiet during idles, gets loud around 2500 rpm, but then dies out about 3000.
What should I do to make my exhuast actually loud? The mufflers currently on there are some knockoffs that the shop put in. Should I get a H pipe put in, or should I get new mufflers? Thanks Last edited by sudbury33; February 3rd, 2010 at 12:22 AM. |

i say get some better mufflers, i would suggest flows, but other people say thrush welds sound pretty good also, but ive never heard them in person so i really wouldnt know, but i have one flowmaster on mine and it sounds pretty good i think.

flows are going to be the loudest mufflers that sound ok. thrushes are quieter yet have a deeper tone

do NOT get an x-pipe with the sixxer. they sound great on v8s', but give a raspy sound with the sixxers.
the h-pipe isnt really needed with our cars either. divorcedc duals with thrush welded mufflers sound great, and you can get two of those for the price of one flowmaster. im sure safi will post up his vid with the thrushes soon enough

just add dumps. leave them un capped. that's what i did. i have an 2007 v6, but it's loud. i have the x pipe, no mufflers, and i have the ehaust dumps uncapped. this is what it sounds like.
