V6 Catalytic converter computer bypass

Hi, I have a 2004 V6 and I got a new dual exhaust, and i noticed that Im not getting the right sound out the engine. I was told to get that V8 sound to cut out the catalytics. What do i need to bypass the computer so that the CEL doesnt come on.

Any help is appreciated.

be careful about cutting your cats bro. its illegal in all states to do so, and in some states they have emission testing. also, you arent ever going to get that v8 sound...its a 6. but to bypass your CEL, pick up a set of MIL eliminators from AM, or there is a way to make homemade ones. all you do is splice them in

^What he said. You can remove them, but it will make your car louder, not sound like an 8.

Thanks guys. Would getting better headers along with flowmaster 40s do the trick?

If you've got the money then yes Flowmaster 40's will give your car a much more aggressive sound. Also for headers longtubes will make your car louder and I think perform a bit better, but be sure that you do not want to go Forced Induction down the road because I hear longtubes don't sit right. If you wanted to get shorty headers, don't, our stock ones flow nicely.

the longtubes will work with any supercharger, it is just if you plan on doing a turbo. for a turbo, they take shorty manifold and flip them back wards and weld in all of the correct plumbing.
