vap intake spacer/single port

hey guys. I've recently tried to order the single port intake spacer kit from Steve at vap but he doesn't have enough people to make a batch @ the moment. so now is the time.... tax season. if your looking for that cheap little bit of humph, send him a email so we can get ours coming! anyone with this spacer already lets hear how you feel about it so we can get some takers. thanks for your time.

I do not have an intake spacer, but I have heard that they work pretty well. I am looking at doing the windstar swap for the split port mustangs.

That sucks that he wont. I know earlier this year I emailed him about the windstar intake swap kit that he has, but I never recieved an email. Maybe I did something wrong. I do not know. I am now going to try to piece my own kit together and see if I can make it work. I almost thought about just buying his intake spacer and then porting my upper, but I think that it looks cleaner under the hood with the windstar. Sorry to thread jack.

IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED THEY SHOULD HELP THIS GUY OUT AND ORDER A SPACER

I emailed him a couple of months ago and he said he was gonna put me on "the list." I tried to drum up some intrest single port spacers then but no one seemed interested. I'll send him another email and see what he says.

I just got his email address off the website or something and emailed him about his windstar intake a while back. It took him a few hours to get back to my first email and just a few minutes to get back to a few more.

Codeman, last I checked he was having trouble keeping them in stock but he was hoping to get some more in asap.

If yall also go over to 3.8mustang.com Steve has a account there where he answers PM's also.

The spacer will add torque more than HP so don't be looking at the hp gains cause it will be some but not a lot. Instead keep on eye on the torque curve and gains. A longer runner will equal more torque.

The windstar will not require a spacer cause the runner on it are much longer than stock intake provides and has a better design to force air into the runners more directly than stock intake.

This is what mine looks like. A little dirty though.

Do you know what he uses to fill the IAC? And roughly how far do you have to shave it down? jc.

I used an external IAC from a GT. I reused the one I used for the SSX sheet metal intake. So I didn't have to shave anything down.

You do not have to shave the IAC to fit under the stock hood? I have the stock hood. I am planning on remotely doing my IAC like you, and then buying the angled throttle body spacer from vap. Then I am going to fab up everything myself.

I thought your clearance would be ok as long as you removed the heat shield from the hood?

maybe it is. I suppose I can always try it this spring. That is when I plan on doing the swap. I can just put some clay stacked on top of the original manifold in the front and see how much clearance there is. Then measure the orginial height, and then the height off the windstar and see if I do have to shave anything.

The only problem i had was my screws for the hood scoop hit my TB on the top you can see a scrape in the dead center. And I had to cut the screw shorter. And I was having Issues with the Throttle catching on the hood. But i think it was my dad's friend who installeds it fault.

I did buy the kit from Steve. Incredibley nice guy and A+ service. Kit did have the angled tb spacer. But the screw I don't think normally is there. So we just cut it down.

If you send him your tb as well he will powder coat it black to match. Looked great before I hit it with the screw. Doh.

alright, i know his kit looks top quality, and i definately think I am going to get the angled spacer from him, but otherwise I think I can fab the rest of the stuff myself. And I already planned on grinding my screw down on my hood scoop for more clearance. It looks sweet on your car. I cant wait until this spring to do my car.
