Question

sct tuner

i am three clicks from ordering mine i just want some real feedback.i have a 97 auto with mild port and polished intakes and heads, CAI, under drive pulleys exhaust , a b&m shift kit on mild setting. will the tuner still help my auto out or hurt it since the shift kit is installed? also feel free to tell how yours have made your car feel

Mine is great, I don't have a shift kit or jmod either, but I do have a tranny cooler. I really don't want it to shift any harder, it'll just spin the wheels too much. And I couldn't decide what to do with it because some eople say bad things about shift kits, and others say shift kits are better than the j mod blah blah blah...I just figued I'd leave it. If it goes, then I have an excuse to get a manual which is what I want anyway. But as for the tuner, go for it. If you plan on doing anything at all to you car really, you need it anyway.

b&m. i never opened a trans up before and i managed with one jack a drill and regular hand tools nothing crazy just measure twice and drill once! no just kidding buy i double checked everything before i proceeded to next step> i also set it to the med. setting not to soft but not all out strip use. I installed a trans cooler at the same time too.

Yeah youll love the tuner, thats how it is but might be better, youll see the rpms keep diving down and jerk forward into 2nd and hear the tires squeal and such. My understanding just to sum it up is shiftkits= faster shifting , tuner= a little faster and much better shift points. With both installed You have a big advantage over mannuals being it shifts better and faster then a human with limmited error, the only advantage mannuals have would be launching at higher rpms, but you can get a better torque converter and still win there.
