battery relocation

Ok, so I have been wanting to relocate my battery to my trunk. I have a couple questions that I was curious about. Ok first what can I use to make a battery box? I do not want to buy an expensive one. Just something to keep the battery steady and prevent battery acid from getting on the carpet. Also, where should I run the cables? Under the car? or through the interior? Lastly, what happens to the hydrogen gas? I know that batteries give off hydrogen gas when they are under load or charging, so i am curious what to do about that since it would be in my trunk.

the main reason is that our cars have more too much weight in the front end. so taking and removing some of the weight from the front end and placing it in the rear is a good idea.

and thanks

oh and johnson is that clear tube for venting the hydrogen gas outside? or what is it for?

With anything taken off the front of the car, you can almost double what it weighs for what you really take off it since it comes off the front. Its like trying to lift a 5 gal bucket full of water straight up, it lefts easy, now lock your elbow and try and raise it with your arm at full length. Its a lot harder. same concept goes when taking weight off the front of a car

good way of putting it anyways more weight over the passenger back tire will add better traction, and since i have to have a battery anyway, i might as well make it serve another purpose. F8L GT where did you route your battery cable? Through the vehicle or under it?

Holy, that looks like a lot of work. I did not know it was so much. I suppose tho to make it look professional. Ok so what is the thing on the trunk lid? I was a little confused there? Is that so you can charge your battery from the trunk at the track?

The thing on the trunk lid is the disconnect switch. You need one to run at the track if the battery is move from the stock location

(lol) so no need for expensive battery box. use money for top of the line battery. every thing is done just waiting for battery and custom mount to show up thursday.

i"m not racing. i"m showing if i want to ad cut off switch i can always ad later

do you know if the nhra allows that? I am planning on going to the strip some this summer. If so that would be sweet and easy instead of adding that emergency shut off and relay to protect the car.

No matter what you will still need a cut off, and it has to be hooked up so that if its turned off, it will shut the car off.
