Modding a slightly modded car.

So i have a 2000 3.8. And i have msd conductor wires, a cai, and a catback exhaust. My future plans involve 3.73 gears. A tuner. And maybe t-lok.
But my main question lies with the transmission. I really would like to know more about a shift kit. Would it be effective? how does it work? What would i gain from it? How much does it cost? OR! What other smaller mods can i put on that will give me a faster car?

look into a J-mod. People who have done it before can chime in with more details. It is a low cost mod. And also a tranny cooler is recommended as well. both will increase performance of tranny and increase lifespan as well.

help me out auto guys.

and if your doing gears the t-lock will go along with it since the dif is apart anyway.
