Stangcharger, I agree that they can be made to look good, I just don't have the time, money, or technical knowledge to put into something like that. And buying one that looks like your dad's would probably be outside of my price range for now. I'm not saying I think they're ugly, just saying that I don't like them as much as 5th gens (or 1st gen fastbacks...)

To each his own i guess.
While I do have to agree with heretic, I can still appreciate a nice clean Mustang like your dads. I don't see many foxes in my area looking that nice, but he does need some rims

I had a chance to buy a 1990 5.0 Foxbox for like 1500$ and i passed on it because I knew the guy who owned it had drove it to hell and back...i kinda regret lettin it pass though because I see what they could be turned into. I didn't know much back then.

So, just took it to the nearest Ford dealership's body shop, and the guy there said he wouldn't even give me an estimate because he'd feel bad charging me money to fix it up cuz it isn't worth it! Apparently, the brake line is rotted through, which is something I should have noticed when I took a look at the engine, but I really didn't know what to look for. It was apparently totalled in 08/2001, then crashed again a year or so later!

It's basically just a humk of junk. But it's got some good parts, and I just called the guy about that other Stang with the red interior, and he says he might know a guy who'd be interested in it for parts, so he might take a trade! So the black '95 GT automatic with ugly red interior might just be my next ride! Not the worst that could happen, I suppose! I DO like the exterior, and it IS a GT...

okay, so everything's cleared up! The guy just offered to take it back and throw in an extra $100 for the new(er) tires. Going to the dealership tomorrow morning after dropping the old off and getting the new(er) 95 GT automatic. Guess I'll be switching over to the GT side now! Thanks all for your help!

Glad you got your money back. He probably gave it back cause you could have took him to court over it and won.

look into it thoroughly. I really don't like the idea of just seeing a car and getting it, which is what you've already done. Think about it for a little bit. Even look within 300 miles of you. driving 4-5 hours isn't that bad IMO if you can get a lot nicer car for a good price.

I agree with 9986 I've driven almost 3 hours to look for a car, but luckily I found mine 15 minutes away from my house.

But in other news, congratulations on getting your situation cleared up and getting youre money back or what not, just think even with the 95 gt you can always change the interior later if it's a good car! Hope it's good to you, good luck!

Praise Jesus!!!! you got rid of that pile of a stang!!

Just one glimpse of this... "the cylinders have been boared out so its like a 4.0L"

if those were his words i would have ran away fast...

Good luck with your next purchase!

Will do... Thanks for all the support, guys! I think I've found my new home... Now to join the NH Mustang club! I've already been to one show, but unfortunately, I took this, and wouldn't even have thought about entering it even as a joke:

Hopefully, my next stang might be show-worthy one day...

No, $1,300, with 260,000 miles on it! But the guy I bought it from said the engine only had 80,000 on it. That was my first Stang, bought it last year, traded it straight up for a 94 Ford conversion van, just sold the van for $600 last Sunday, bought the POS white 94 Stang, now giving that back and possibly getting a decent black 95 Stang GT... My life is pretty hectic...
