Will Cobra parts fit on my 2000 3.8?
Take it easy, I am new to the club...I just want to know if all cobra parts are interchangible with 2000 v6? If not what parts are? I need more stopping power any suggestions? Oh ya already replaced brake pads..Thanks

do you mean a cobra braking system...if so you can purchase upgrade kits for your sixxer...but i've heard you'll need 17" rims minimum to use the new rotors or spacers on your current rims so they wont contact..
edit: no real need to put cobra brakes on a stock sixxer....i'd reccomend higher end rotor for your stock set-up and better pads...unless you plan to start making enough power to warrent spending money on this |

Yes the brakes are transferable but as 6er said it's not necessary until you're doing some serious power making, or if you plan on auto cross... although stock calipers should be good enough for that with some good pads and slotted rotors.

Slotted rotors will make a good difference. If you're using cheap pads though just swapping to good pads like hawk or another name brand will help and is much cheaper than buying new rotors.

Dose ABS help alot in AutoX? I dont have ABS on my car but im smart enough to pulse the breaks and not lock them up.

ABS will only allow you to maintain control of the car in a panic stop or a skid. ABS monitors wheel speed and when it sees a variance of speed between 2 wheels it will pulse the caliper to whichever wheel is skidding, thus keeping the driver in control and allowing for maximum stopping power.
It might help in an emergency but I don't think you would be hitting the brakes hard enough to lock them up in auto cross. I've never done any auto cross myself so I'm no expert. Keep in mind that the brakes don't stop a car, the tires do. |

In some cases tress and other cars do haha. Yeah I would think they would help being you can use your breaks to the maximum power without locking up. But I guess I just got to work with what I Have.
Well JW, thanks for your imput man

Check out R1Concepts.com. They also have an Ebay store that will customize a package for you if they don't currently offer it. For under $400 I got drilled/slotted rotors all around (stock diameter) and Hawk Ferro Carbon pads. Great upgrade from stock. As said the big brake kits aren't necessary at all unless you make enough power to need the stopping ability, and tires are a HUGE factor.
