mach 460 head unit removal

Hi, i have a 2000 mustang with the mach 460 soundsystem with separated (radio and cassette) and (cd player). i am having trouble removing either of the units. I have the factory removal keys but both units seem stuck. I have also tried to remove the trim around these and it seems to get stuck between the two units even though i did remove the two screws. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

just pull and pry and cuss and yell and it will come out. mine did the same thing, and it took me what seemed like forever to remove. you should hear the pins "pop"

take the din removal tools and push outwards on each with a fair amount of force, as your doing this pull towards you and they should come out. Its tricky to do.

also there is a screw holding in the bezel that can only be removed once the radio is out. (its way back there holding the bezel to a metal beam)

Thank god they simplified this on 2001-2004 models. Taking out my Mach 460 head unit was a breeze; remove the shifter panel, remove the vent panel, unbolt the radio, remove.
