Radiator Hoses
This Spring I'm doing a tune up on my car that's long overdue. As I've been ordering parts I decided I should replace the thermostat and seeing as how I'm going to have the coolant drained I figure it would be a good time to replace the 10 year old radiator hoses. I'm doing most of my shopping at RockAuto since they're awesome when it comes to replacement parts. Now I'm looking at the upper/lower radiator hoses and 2 of them (both made by Gates) mention they don't come with springs. None of the other hoses say anything about springs. I'm planning on just going with Motorcraft hoses but what are the springs the other company is talking about? I was under the impression the radiator hoses were simply hoses that were clamped into place.
Edit: When I take the hoses off will there still be coolant in them? I assume the lower hose will still have some.. Also, anybody know where I can find a blue upper radiator hose for a 3.8L?
