Convertible Top Question

Ok, so I found out my vert has a small hole near the rear window, it's not big at all and doesn't leak unless incredible pressure is on it, like a high power car wash...my question is, should I try to seal it with some sealant for the time being? I know that a new top cost around 1300$ to get done, how hard would a top swap be from another vehicle?

If you are gonna do the work, you can get a new top for about 400$ The labor would kill you. And its about 8-10 hours of work.

here is a little write up i found online.

eletrical tape maybe since its black tape on a black top or maybe like a patch for a tire would do the trick

i've swapped tops before.........

took us 7 hours not knowing what the fuck we were doing

it's real easy after your all said and done..... it's just figuring out the steps you need to take to get there.

it's def a 2 person job if you've never done it before...... especially when it comes to lining things up.

if you have any questions, feel free to pm me, as i don't frequent the 6er section much, just happened to see a thread that caught my eye

thanks to all of you, another question i have is would a 94-98 top fit? or would it have to be a 98? It's a 12 year old top and it's in great shape i'm just thinking it's startin to dry out you know? i mean that's a long time for one top.
