Quick question about revving

I was trying to make a video of my engine revving this morning, and I couldn't find the damn thing you're supposed to be able to pull that revs for you in the engine. I know it exists, and I would really love to know where it is in my engine, so I don't have to find someone to take the video for me! Thanks!

I stole this pic off google images so ignore the text on it.

Circled in yellow the throttle body. The plate inside there opens to allow more air to flow into the engine. Circled in red is the throttle cable (when you step on the gas, this cable is pulled and the plate in the throttle body moves to suck in more air). It's attached to a bracket which is what you're looking for. It will only move in one direction so don't try to force it. If it's not moving, you're pushing it the wrong way.

I think I'm going to take a few pics of my own engine one of these days just so I have reference pics instead of having to use google images

I think I tried pulling that exact cable, cuz I was pretty sure that was it, but it didn't do anything. You're saying I have to push it??? My friend showed me how to do it, but it was on a VW Scirocco...

Don't play with the cable, it's the bracket you're interested in. Follow that cable until you see the bracket it clips onto. That bracket is attached the the throttle body which is easy to find (it's the first metallic piece after the air intake). The bracket rotates. I like to put one finger on top of the bracket and on finger on the bottom and twist it towards the cable (sorry, push was probably the wrong term to use). Be cautious as well. It doesn't take much to get the revs up when the car is in neutral and there's no resistance. Thinking about it, you probably don't have a tuner so your rev limited is most likely set at 4000 RPM in neutral. This is probably a good thing since you can't actually see what your RPM is while you're under the hood
