Fog light wiring
Anyone have any pictures or can give me a very detailed description on where to find the wiring for installing my fog lights. I'm pretty sure my car has the wiring since there are wires running off of the "dead switch" where the fog light button should be, but i have no idea where to begin to look for them.

I don't really have much info besides the wiring should be somewhere inside the fenders. I imagine it would have to end pretty close to the front.

Yea that's where i think someone on here before had said they found theirs, but i haven't the slightst idea how to really get in there and look. Sounds noob like, but for real, is that something you would have to lift the car up to be able to look for?

Imo, pop the hood and check around near the headlights for any unused plugs. If there's nothing then jack the car up and take a look up under the fenders.

On my 2000 mustang it was inside the drivers side front fender. The only way to get to it is to take the front driver side wheel and wheel liner off. Once you have those off look back toward the rear of the car in the wheel well.
Even then you only have access to the connector that is the dead end for the fog light signal wire. This means you can't just tap into a wire but rather have to add a pin to the connector. If you unbolt and disconnect the connector you'll see there are contacts on one side but none on the other for the fog light signal wire. Again, this is how it was on my 2000 but I'd imagine it's the same for a '01. |
