Where is the fuel pump relay?
where is the fuel pump relay on a 99? It is not under the seat like the book says. This thing will not start but if you put the battery cahrger on it on start mode it will with out the charger the fuel pump does not run but with it it will. It has a new battery it is either the pump or the relay in my eyes. I think the contacts are bad on the relay?

![]() Stole the pic from another site (I don't have any fuse box diagrams saved ) but that should be under the hood, just back from the battery. Fuel pump relay is highlighted in blue.

It is not added.
this is what it looks like. http://www.fordf150.net/images/articles/fpdm3.jpg Don't mind that this pic shows one from an f150. all shaped kind of the same. The fpdm is not the relay pictured.. it it behind the metal plate.

Doesn't sound like a fuel issue at all to me to be honest.
If I got your first post right you basically said that WITH a charger on start mode it will start and without a charger it won't run the fuel pump or start. Sounds like you got a dud battery that has no cca's honestly.

It is my bro's car it was doing this so he bought a new battery and it did not fix it he no's nothing about cars he did plugs wires and every thing. I went and got the car today. When you turn the key on the pump does not prime. when you crank it it will not start. i noticed when i put the charger on it only on 250 amp it will start. It will start a few times after that. Then it needs jumped again. It seems like the contacts are burnt up on the relay was my thought.

Odd for sure.
If the battery checks out then at least we know it is not that. Like I said, check out the fdpm if anything. It is kind of hard to diagnose over the net ya know?

Edit: The more I read about it, it seems like several ford cars and trucks have issues with it. Not all but a good many.
