I would go to a dyno shop and get a tune for your car custom made

Depending on what his car has had done to it, it's probably not worth a dyno tune yet.

+1. If I ever need a custom tune, Trick Tuners is where I'll be headed.

The preloaded will work just fine. I honestly thing it is worth it for the custom tune though depending on your mods.
for example: you have a 2000 v6 5spd with just a cai. a canned tune is cool.

If you have a half decent amount of mods then I would go with custom because a custom tune is made based off of info that you give the tuner. It would be based off of your specific v6 and how you drive and what not.

I'd probably avoid UDPs if you've got a big audio system.

for sure! I would also avoid UDPs if you have a wild combo, bigger fuel pumps, boost, etc. WOT takes a lot of juice!
