Fuel Error

Hi all... what does this mean an error popped up on my console saying something like "fuel level low - dti error" (it said more but i forgot) and my gas needle went all the way to "E" then 10 seconds later the error cleared and my gas needle went back up to full...unfortunately i wasn't able to write the whole error down...couldn't find a pen... does anyone know what this means?

Sounds as if you may have a fuel sending unit problem in the tank which sends the information of fuel level to your computer. Have the "Check Eng" codes read and see if this is the problem.

on a side note it seems to be happening a lot with the 05+ models...

i've looked up the information you've given and they all point to the fuel sending unit...with or without check engine light, if someone else thinks different then i'll wait for them but i'm betting on the fuel sending unit

Great... how is this fixed? I hope it won't cause me to break the bank... Also I have an Actron Code Reader in my house..I hooked it up to my car and it found no problems...but there is a problem becaseu this is the 2nd time this happened... my wife said she had the car a week ago and that error popped up for her...

the net is saying around 200$ to get someone else to do it or you could do it yourself by following these steps

How to Replace a Fuel Sending Unit | eHow.com

^ wouldn't suggest doing it if you don't know much about cars though.

according to other sites the only thing it effects is your fuel gauge so I don't see why choosing to not fix it would hurt anything else...i'm not 100% sure though. Since you're so thankful you can rep me if you would like! click the little weight scale and click I approve please sir! Thanks
