Would what I gain from longtubes be worth the money? I'm never going to supercharge or put a turbo in it, so I think I should do my basics the best I can.

with long tubes you can expect about a 10-15% power gain, shorties really don't help flow that much over the stock exhaust manifold, maybe top 5% and that is being very genorus, i think that longs would definfatly be worth the money, and like i said before, i'm sure that if you did get longs someone else on here would want to buy your shorties if they were going for a turbo set up.

as far as supercharging goes, you don't need shorties, those really are only for turbos. but for a power adder i would go with nitrous, it won't hurt your gas milage like a sc does, tc's don't hurt gas milage if tuned right, but they do add alot of weight, and besides that nitrous is generaly the cheapest of all of them.

and as far as what racr94 said about the 8.8 rear, that you should consider if you want to be putting down upwards of 350 hp, otherwise your stock rear would be fine with gears and a t lok

oh yah, and longs will help your sound more than shorties also. (at least in my opinion it sounds better)

I think the wheels are fine if you dont like black. Personally I think black wheels look the best on yellow stangs, chrome is a close second tho :]....you should go with a roush stage 3 body kit..... and to the guy wondering about power paks they sell them at www.supersixmotorsports.com you can learn about them there.

I was thinking about the Roush too. The Stalker Type II looks pretty good also. The Roush is a little more expensive though... And I'd have to put my exhaust through my skirts too.

I also like the fact that my stang came without a spoiler. I get to do this car the way I want the first time.

dude roush = bad-ass lol with some hood that sticks up the roush kit looks amazing.. (thought id throw that out there)

i say dont worry about power packs.. YET. throw on every bolt-on part you can find get a good tune and see how you like that THEN start thinking about major mods like a power pak

Oh, the Power Pak is pretty far off for me. There's no way I can cough up $2500 to spend like that in less than a year or so. So its bolt on fun in my driveway for a while. lol

My plan so far is bolt-ons to hopefully get me above 215-220 horsepower, then a bodykit, then the power pak. Probably around 2 years all told.

in all honesty once you get the bolt-ons on i would look into upgrading the rear to a 8.8 before i went to do anything else.. buy some streetable drag radials and THEN start on other things

i agree, like i said earlyer, the 8.8's are good for 350+ power, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't replace before you get to that power.

much better to do it before so you dont lose your car and maybe break something else within the car.. besides you can sell your old 7.5 rear when you take it out =]

you should get a spoiler, just the stock one, not a ricey looking one.

Right, I meant to ask about that last night. What exactly is the 8.8 you're talking about? And with the bolt-ons I'm including a short throw stick and gears (3.73 or 3.75, haven't done enough research to decide), and probably a t-lok as well.

As for the spoiler, I like smaller ones that go with the lines of the car. I'd like one that flush with my trunk like the Saleen (but not as big) or like the Cervini 500 wing for the '07s. Just gotta find one for a '99-'04.

an 8.8 rear is a rear end that is built to handle more power than the one you have now, if you know what a ford 9" in the old stangs was it would be comparable to that, built for more power and will last longer

My rear axle, huh?

Ok, now that comment makes a lot more sense, and a junkyard would probably be my best place to find one. Good thing I know where a few are.
