Where to start, where to start...

I just came into an '01 V6 Mustang with a few modifications already on it (bullet dual independent exhaust, headers, and rims). I have absolutely no experience modding cars and my pockets aren't too deep, but I can cough up 1-2k every once in a while if I really want to. Any improvement suggestions? And where would I find the parts I need?

well, sorry to say this buddie, but those shorties arn't really doing anything for you, unless you want to turbocharge i would say that those need to go

Long tubes too huh? Well, I've got a list goin now... Next obvious question is installation. I know I can (and will) buy the parts online, but where would I go to have the ones installed that I can't do myself? Just take my parts to a body shop? Rookie questions, I know, but hey, this is the place to get answers, right?

hey, theirs no such thing as a stupid question unless i'm the one asking it, as far as instilation since none of these parts have to do with the bodie you just take it to a mechanic that does a good job. the long tubes would replace the shorties, and i'm sure that there is someone on here who would want to buy shorties if they are getting a turbo set up, so that could pay for itself.

are you thinking of getting any visual things done?

I'm going to put a bodykit on but only after my engine moves like I want it to. I've been looking at Cervini's, Roush, and a few others, but no decisions yet.

well, for the body kit you don't necisarily have to take it to a body shop, if the parts come pre painted and match your car well, then you could install yourself, if you are willing to.

what kind of power would you like to be putting down?

I haven't really thought about actual goals, but I'd like to get above 250hp, 275 if possible. I don't know enough about torque or compression ratios to think about what I want to do with them. lol

a power pack would be a good start to get to that power, after you have your basics, actually it would get you above 275, but you could get even more power after the power pak with nitrous and get near 350 hp

Yeah, I've seen the power pack mentioned a lot. It'll be a while before it happens, but it sounds like thats where I want to go.

Damn I'm excited about this now. Come July I'll start having some fun putting together my mustang. Thanks for the help Steamboat. 'Preciate it.
