Best way to launch in drag

So recently I've been drag racing against my buddies 3.8 grand prix and I've taken him most of the time but I keep having problems getting a good consistent launch. Anyone know the best way to launch an automatic without spinning all the power away on the passenger side wheel?

Tlok (aka limited slip differential). Our cars get an open differential from the factory which means almost all your power is going to the rear passenger side wheels. It's not very hard to break it loose and your traction isn't the best. If you get a limited slip differential then your traction will increase and if you do break loose, you'll at least leave 2 tire marks instead of one. And if you get a limited slip differential, get steeper gears at the same time and say bye bye to your buddy.

well, based off the thread title alone, i'd say launching in heels would be pretty tough.

Pretty much what these guys said. Better tire, (lower pressure) and a t lock.

Some suspension mods would do you good as well.

I would rep ya mustanginky, but it won't let me. That was funny as hell.

+1 tlock ftw! make sure you get one for the 7.5 rear end instead of the 8.8

I changed my rear end to a 8.8 with tloc and 4:10's but I do not race on the streets where traction is poor and people are plenty. So for me it is slicks or 280 tread wear streets depending on the event and how I want to class, foot brake to 2500rpm and boom in less than two seconds I put 60' behind me.
