need v6 long tube help.
ok. i just put long tube headers and HF cats on my 3.8. i removed and turned off the rear o2s the my sf4. it is backfiring at idleand when i shift. could the missing o2s cause this? also i seafoamed it the day i got it back. i was thinking maybe the computer was still adapting and the seafoam threw it a curveball. or the o2s. anythin else it might be? also it doesnt do it much when it is at OP temp. and is doing it less now.

I think you need the rear ones and you can delete the front ones? Thats how it was with mine after my longtube install, anyway. Bought Steeda extensions and did away with the rears and my check engine light never went away and car ran like a bag of ass.
Reversed the process, deleted the fronts and extended the rears and the car ran fine from the get-go.

Yo ewells it sounds like u got a nice lil setup according to ur signature thing but why you got 3 negative bars? what in the world have you done to get those?
on a side note I've heard many people on the forums say they've deleted their front o2s...sorry to thread jack real quick but yeah I do know you need the rear ones! |

Well this is my first post and it took me a while to figure out how to make one. So i posted on someone elses and they got pissed. that was this morning btw. then i found the new thread button. still dont know how to quote. lol
But it seams to be running fine now. no backfire. i guess it was just too much stuff at once for my ECU to handle. |

all you have to do is click quote and it'll quote the whole post that the person did, u can delete characters though so it'll say just what you want it to.
glad to hear it's running right |

Thats why I said, I deleted my rears and there was nothing I could do, even with tuning it, to make the car run right or even keep the Check Engine Light off. I swapped and deleted the front ones and it worked. I havent had an issue since. So unless we all have freak-of-nature cars, however you get it to work, by all means.

Must be different on a sixxer. Us v8 guys need our front o2s as thats what controls tha A/F ratio. The rears on the 8s are only to tell the computer if the cats are working or not.
