Hood Scoop installation
Ok, so I have read two methods of installing a gt hood scoop on a v6 hood. the first is that there are little dents underneath the liner and you just take a nail and tap them up so you can see them from the top and drill.
the other method is taking the screws off of the hood scoop, aligning it and making reference marks. then installing screws and tape on the hood. then trace around the screws making sure the alignment marks are aligned. Ok well i wan't to know what you guys used for this? and my car is an 02 incase there are no dents on the underside of the hood.

I took mine to a buddy who manages a body shop, I did not want the screws to be used for install. So He bonded it on SuperClean install with no goop showing. Of course he jokes and says it'll only stay on until I hit 200. So I don't see it ever falling off. Unless I lose the whole hood that is. LOL.

Did you get a 35th Anniversary hood scoop? Or one afterward? The 35th is wider than the typical GT hood scoop.

99-00 are hard to install the scoops on, you will need a template
01-04 have the holes "half drilled" or something like that in the right spots under the hood liner, just do as you said and tap them through. Use a good drill but to advoid fucking up your hood and take your time |

I'm about to do this myself. From what I've read you should first make a template. Then drill out the premaked rear holes (if 01-04) and put pins through your template to hold it in place while you mark the other holes. Then, when drilling, just make sure the drill doesn't pop out and scratch the paint around it. Hope this helps!
