Rear gears. 3.73 in your case as you have a manual transmission. $300-$500 parts and labor, Tuners for around $300 also check the sticky in the forum for mod questions.
As for take off parts, not sure what really would be an upgrade? Sorry can't help on that part.

I did this to mine. It took about 8 hour with me and my dad.

Also. You can take an intake manifold off a windstar minivan and gain some good torque. Look up windstar mod in this forum.

Bigger rear end with some gears dont give you "power", youll just get off the line a hell of alot quicker. Autos go with 4:10s, manuals 3.37s.

Underdrive pullies, longtube or shorty headers, full dual [true] exhaust, upgraded coil pack/ignition, cold air intakes and mild port jobs. Without really digging into the motor and adding power, doing whats been listed above and the past few posts is what youll do for cheap and its quick and easy. I really shouldnt call it "cheap" but its cheaper than a stroker kit.

Make sure if you're planning to get a gt rear and steeper gears to put the gears in the rear before you put the rear on. just makes it easy for yourself. =]

+1 on gears.

Don't mess with the gears man. You need to be within thousands of an inch with them. I would let the Pro's do that job.

Welcome to the forum.

other than the above stuff, a short throw shifter would probably be nice.

Mustangs are known for sound.. from their exhaust.
A system will at best add maybe a 100 pounds and that is only worth a 10th of a second in a drag race. I don't consider it ricer. It is a bit annoying though to be at a light and having to listen to a car vibrating next to me.

I agree. But I thinks its just retarded. Im biased though. Every mustang around here with a system is a ricer.
