posi trac question homies

my dad want me to put a posi on my car, because some people he talked to that build race cause told him that whats gonna happen whenevery i get it out in rain or bad weather, im gonna go around a curve at speed and with both wheels working instead of one, im gonna spin the car and wreck. i was wondering if any of you that have posi's have to change your driving around curves or in rain. thanks.

im kind of confused because i think your confused. posi-trac will indeed make both wheels get traction but in no way is it a bad thing. it will be safer to drive. have you ever noticed when going around a corner when its wet(like you said) its real easy to break the back end lose. well it wont be as easy with the posi-trac and a latent function of keeping you safe.

yea thats what im thinking but i know posi's are made with drag racing in mind. thats what everyone has told me that i have talked to at mustang shops, but then i've never heard of anyone having trouble with driving with one on a street car. thats what confuses me.

Posi also known as traction lock or t-lok is gonna make both your wheels spin instead of just one wheel that spins now.

it will help a little bit in the rain but its really the tires. those tires with those 8inch rims unless there a good brand like kumo, sumitomo, or nittos are gonna spin bad always.

a wider rims will help and so will t-lok

posi will help you in the rain no way you'll be worse off.

people people. ok say you have 2 feet , i hope you do. well put one foot up in the air and move forward then make a turn. its kind of hard eh? now do that on wet ground... not its a suicide mission. now put both feet on the ground and walk. then turn. WOW its easy! now walk on water, not like jesus though, woah! im not slipping and sliding everywhere!

stock we have 1 foot. posi gives us 2

posi trac/lsd/trac-lok/t-lok all are the same and open up around corners just as an open rear does. they only lock in straight lines.

So is Posi the only thing really saving my ass this winter then since my tires are bald as hell and I still seem to have incredible control in rain/sleet/snow etc etc?

Only reason I didnt bother getting new tires for the winter was because I have been looking for bigger rims and Im not going to waste the money on tires I am going to use for a month, but I was just wondering if the Posi was what was compensating for my tires being very bald or are our cars just really not that bad anyways in heavy rain/sleet/snow bad weather conditions?
