Okay, I'm stumped

My 2000 V6 runs great in the morning when it's cold but as it warms up during the day it starts to idle rough and pings/knocks and doesn't want to accelerate and I can't seem to figure out why.

I've replaced the EGR valve, took the MAF sensor out and cleaned it. Even ran it with the MAF sensor disconnected which neither helped nor made it worse.

Could it by my o2 sensor(s)?

Also, the check engine light is NOT on.

I was thinking it might be my plugs but wouldn't it miss as soon as the car was running?

Update:

New fuel filter didn't help, and the cat isn't blocked up.

Perhaps it's the coil?

HI LOOK NOT TO BE MEAN BUT BEFORE YOU WASTE A LOT FO MONEY ON UNNECESSARY PARTS HAVE SOMEONE RUN IT THRU THERE SCANNER.
DOES THE CAR BLOW BLACK SMOKE WHEN YOU STEP ON IT.
DOES THE CAR LOOSE POWER WHEN IT WARMS UP.
DID YOU CHECK YOUR PLUGS FOR SIGNS OF CARBON OR HEAT
EGR VACUM WORKING.
MANY QUESTIONS. THEY NEVER END. FORD IS NOT THE EASIEST CAR TO WORK ON . UNLESS YOU HAVE A TESTER/ SCANNER/ BREAKOUT BOX YOUR OUT OF LUCK
A BAD MASS AIR WILL GIVE YOU A IRRATIC IDLE AND AT TIMES STALL.
02 SENSORS NOT HARD TO REPLACE WITH THE RIGHT TOOLS IF THEY DON'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM YOUR BACK TO SQUARE 1
FOR A SIMPLE FEE GET THE RESULTS AND THEN IF YOU WANT TACKLE THE JOB. MAKE SURE THE TECK IS ASE CERTIFIED OR BETTER MAKE FRIENDS WITH A MECHANIC AT THE FORD DEALER AND ASK HIM IF HE DOES WORK AT HOME AND SAVE

1. No it doesn't blow black smoke
2. Yes, after I've been driving for a period of time it starts to get really bad
3. I'm going to be taking out the plugs tomorrow
4. If the EGR Vacuum wasn't working, wouldn't the light be on? Or at least flashing?
5. I took the MAF sensor out and cleaned it, didn't help.
6. My MIL is not on.
7. Why are you typing in all caps?

sorry on the caps. so it don't blow black smoke that means it's not running lean or rich thats good.
note when pulling the plugs look at the conditions and let me know look for hairline cracks on the ceramic that will cause a hezitasion, also check when the car is running at normal running temp if u see any sparks or current arching around the wires if you have a bad wire it will show as a miss in the motor also having a dist. cap when was it changed last, look at the center of the cap check if it's worn look for cracks, and, question whats the weather condition like when this problem happens

Quick before i go, get the car hot, duplicate the problem, the hasitation, open the hood and with a good set of spark plug wire pliers at the cap remove 1 wire at a time keep it close don't let the spark arch to the wire if there is no change in idle then the problem is that cylinder, if the motor hasitates and starts to run rough the cyl is good a fireing properly put back the wire and go to the next do this for all the cyl and see what you find, don't get zapped.

I did get zapped when I tried that the other day haha, but if I recall correctly everything seemed to be running fine, i.e. it ran rough for all six cylinders. I'll check again today though.

Someone told me that the coil packs on these are spotty, could that be the problem?

EDIT-It happens in all weather conditions.

Pulled the plug wires out one at a time again and they're all getting fire.

When you say distributor cap are you talking about the coil?

BAHAHA wow, I fixed it today.

I bought some MSD plug wires yesterday because I thought it was the coil and figured "well, new coil, new wires" and I was putting them on when I got to the #2 cylinder.

I had a lot of trouble removing the boot(of my stock wire) and got really frustrated and ripped it off(why not right?). Well the boot came off and I looked down at the spark plug and TADA! the terminal is freakin RUSTED to the plug.....

Same thing for cylinder #3.

Put the new wires on, no miss, no ping, no knock. I was more than pleased.

Thanks for all the help you guys.
