remember to beef up your front end suspension so it will still handle well, be very carfull when you are putting the engine and tranny in to not bump or mess with the computer at all, if you do you might not notice problems right away but in about 6 months you will. how reliable are the 5.0's in relation to the 4.6er's? just wondering
anyway good luck

bump or mess with the computer???? shit he'll be replacing it and rewiring everything. and a 5.0 is just as reliable as a 4.6. he can get away with the stock suspension if its not in the budget.

oh i know he can get away with it, and i wasn't asking about reliabitliy out of concern for him, only to know if it would be worth it to get a t bird with the 5.0 or instead one with the 4.6

well its all personal preference... I have owned a numerous 4.6s and 5.0s. IMO for a DD I would choose a 4.6. For a weekend car a 5.0.

Yall keep on sitting here saying how hard it will be...... Give examples of what has been altered that will make it so difficult. If the two of you haven't built a few mustangs then I can understand why you would think this is a huge undertaking. No its not going to be cheap. NO its not going to be a weekend project. The only things that will hinder it from dropping right in is the Kmember and trans crossmember. I didn't list the trans crossmember because it is very easy to modify it to take a different trans. The rest is mostly electrical and you will be able to steal parts off of a 94-95 to make it easier than wiring it from scratch.

I just know from what guys at a speed shop told me, and from some people I have talked to that it is a very difficult project.
