5.0 Swap. Help? [Info Only]

ok so my friend has a 9? mustang lx 5.0.. he offered up his motor as a doner to my car for 500 bucks.. anything i need i take.. injectors, fuel pump, motor mount, wiring harness.. anyone know any information on how to go about the swap, i have every possible tool but none of my mechanic buddys/relatives know anything besides GM cars. so if anyones knows anyone or has any imormation on parts/steps to swapping let me know please!

and i was wondering if i needed to find a new tranny for it or will the stock 04' sixer tranny work.

much appreciated.. and dont tell me its not worth it, i like the motor and all the labor is free so its a done deal

you know how easy it is to make a 5.0 fast.. i mean it takes a few here n there things.. a sixer takes a power adder to get anywhere

and i hate the way sixers sound too

people please stop thinking your v6 is almighty. sure they can be fast, a civic can be fast. but i have to be honest, i have only heard one v6 that actually sounded good. all others sound like shit IMO. sure a 5.0 doesnt push alot of hp stock. but what body and engine do you see most for drag stangs? you guessed it a fox with a 5.0. i vote engine swap.

I'm pretty sure it's 500 pounds more. Stock Fox 5.0 weighs about 2750 and stock SN95 3.8 is about 3200-3250.

On a serious note you will need to grab EVERY part you can from the donor car including rear end, tranny, harness, There will also be a little bit of fab work getting the fox platform parts to mate up to your new edge sn95. It will be a serious undertaking but overall should be a great challenge and learning experience for even the most able bodied technician.

Yeah as long as you can grab the tranny & rear end and everything it will be ok otherwise you'll need a tranny and rear end.

OMG uninformed people......... The swap will be cake work. All a 94-04 is a reskinned foxbody. But your gonna need a few things to make it work. Your going to need a
5.0 K-member
engine harness
computer harness
fuel pump return system if yours isn't already
the complete motor
a trans setup of your choice

most of the problems you are gonna run into is electrical. as long as you know how to read a schematic and do the proper research it should be fairly easy.
