Looks good, Is that a VAP kit? or did you just buy the tb jig. I thought their air intake tubing was powdercoated black?

thanks, but no, i didnt buy the vap kit, but i do have some of the pieces of the kit for mine, i got mine form the junkyard and modded it, but the tb, is a modded gt 65mm tb, with the extension arm. and i just used my cai parts and it went toghter fine, i actually could of ran the intake futher down into the wheel well, but the filter was to big.

That looks sweet. Ok, did you weld on the extension arm? And also did you use any angled throttle body spacer? If not did you get any rubbing? I have a windstar and a 65 mm GT tb. I realized I will either have to add the extender arm or a spacer or both because at wot the throttle linkage hits the windstar.

nope, not one bit of rubbing, there is actually still some room under the hood, maby a 1/2in or so. for the tb, its the vap modded 65mm one, all i had to do is move the heater core back n forth till we could turn the arm all the way. as far as the spacers, i did not use the tb spacer, it sits perfectly stright and again there is still more room under there, makes me think i should try to throw on my spacer to, cause i dont wana get rid of it.

so thats a pretty good upgrade for 99-04 also ? i was under the impression that it wouldnt make much difference since we already had split port ?

You can ONLY do this on a split port. The lower and heads are also split port, and where the gains come from over a 94-98.

Did you port the tb opening on the windstar? If not the larger throttle body isn't really flowing any better. It also won't really make a difference until your making enough power to benifit from more air flow.

04 40th, 3.9l, what hood do u have? and i did not port the windstar opening, since its just about the same size as the tb, 1 or 2mm, i dont think is noticable at all. and i dont know what else to say, but i deffinatly gained some power, between the other bolt ons an 93 tune, i have to have had atleast 10hp or so, if not more. as far as a split sport swap, this should be on the list if ur a 96-98, great power gain all around the charts, and looks a shit load better. o and dont forget u need to get the 4mm gaskets form the ford dealership, its a must...

Congrats man. How exactly do you know you have 1/2 an inch of room left when you close the hood? I don't doubt you have room, but most everyone else has had fitment issues w/o the angled spacer and a 1/2 in. is a nice cushion.

well honestly i dont know for sure, but there is no rubbing at all, and just befor u close the hood u can see under it, and u can kindof tell there is still some room under there, but dont forget i have the reverse hood, and again i did NOT need an angled spacer. now my firend who has the non reverse hood, had to shave his tb down use the tb sapcer, take off the insulator, and.... shave the inside of his hood down alittle bit, and then it worked for that hood. i guess its all about the hood man.

updated pic... got black cupler, an L fitting for top vacume hose, fixed all house clamps (facing the right way), and cleand some of the egr and wirring stuff up, to make it look nicer. only problem was the intake was hanging to low, and was hitting the ac pully, so i had to zip tye the filter the the body

dang, that looks so sick. I just go in my garage and stare at mine waiting to be installed in two weeks now, the time is coming soon when im out of college for the summer.
And I think your hood statement makes sense why you don't have fitment issues. Because you have more room up front where the intake pipe goes.
