remove the bolt holding the air box in place and pull the silencer out.

It does what it says it does. It makes the engine run more quietly; take it off and you'll instantly notice a change in your exhaust note.

i did that and it sounds a lot better. now i just took off the air box and ran a chrome pipe into the fender wall. now looking for a good filter. it sounds a lot better. thats about all.

It ll give you 1-2 more horsepower. buy a K&N air filter too.

took my silencer and housing off mine. it does sound better IMO.
A guy at the track said to take the screen off the MAF that would help. Anyone know about this. I have heard that taking that out kills 1-2 hp. Personally I dont feel its safe. Could suck debris in the intake that way couldnt ya?

When I took my silencer off the screen wasn't there. I guess it was already gone. Drove it the entire time I owned it like that. Not one issue with that car. Of course I also owned it less than a year.

The debris would have to come through the entire filter first to get sucked into the intake.

I just cant justify taking my screen out, ya know just in case!
Thats my convicton though, anyone else can do it if they want to.
