Windstar Intake Kit, exhaust, gears, and a tuner would be a nice first few mods.

3.73's would be a little better on gas mileage, but you'll probably like 4.10's more when you're at the track. I drive a lot of highway miles with my 3.90's and still get good gas mileage. I cruise at around 70 in 5th gear which I can't really remember, but I think it puts me at about 2400-2500rpms. I also know a few guys who run 4.30's in their dd's and say they would have it no other way. I think they cruise around 65mph on the highway and feel comfortable with that. Hope this helps a little.

I would recommeng going with true duals or an h pipe and the flowmasters. They seem to be best. And as far as keeping up with the 95, it depends on if it is an auto. And if it is stock, I think they only had like 215 hp stock which is not too far off your stock v6. If your v6 is a 5 spd I would say it would be a decent race stock. He would beat you but it would not be crazy.

Well if you do a hole bunch of bolt ons and lets just say you end up getting him. He can just add on something and than you are again chasing him with alredy spending $$$. Skip the bolt ons.

I'd go with 373's and don't forget a Tlok. Gears are almost pointless without one.
Exhaust I'd say listen to youtube vids to get an idea of the sound you might get. Most people list their mods to help you can duplicate the sound. I'd personally Go with an H pipe and flows if your on a budget. If not try giving the borlas a listen they sound very nice on some setups but are like twice as much. Bassanni has great sounding X pipes too not sure if they smog tho. |

I agree with AndrewA. I learned the hard way that bolt ons do very little for our cars. Not until I did some engine work did I see real gains. What I listed above might get you at or even a tad above him rwhp wise, but they came with a lot more torque than ours. I think they are rated at 275 at the crank to our 220.
My exhaust is BBK shorties, pypes catted x-pipe, and flow 40's, and I love this setup. Although I do plan to swap out the shorties for some MAC Longtubes.

Ok, well don't spend your money on a TB they don't do much. Here is a list in my opinion and most ppls of the best bolt ons to the least.
Gears and Tlok Biggest Speed Gain, no hp but better accel Windstar upper intake Udp LTs Cai Exhaust and top it all off with a tuner. With those mods you would be pretty close i think. If you want the cheapest way to beat him your bet would be to go with a wet nitrous kit and a 75 to 100 shot.

You may get close in HP 215 but he's got 285 TQ. Where yours should be around 195 HP and 225 TQ with maybe 5-7 HP and/or TQ With that K&N. It's alot to make up.

Yup, this should make it a nice race. But like night rider and I said, they do have a bunch of torque.

VAPauto.com claims 7hp and 15tq just with the Windstar. Add in some other mods that help get more air in and out of the engine quick, fast, and in a hurry, and it'll probably help a bunch over the stock manifold. I think the Windstar is what helped me to get so much out of my current set up.

Not everyone knows to look there all the time. I read through the stickies here, but I didn't wanna seem like a douche and just post, "Check out the sticky."
