Ok so I got a hold of an air grinder that is 1/4 shank. I need to get some bits for it. What bits did you use most blue? Also what speed or air psi should I run the air grinder at? I have been reading up on it. I am planning on buying a lower intake for my car that is already ported. But I still want to do it and learn how to port. And I would like to practice and hopefully do a decent job on the lower and upper and then sell them and help pay for more stuff for my car.

Also I have sanding wheels for polishin. My question is how smooth of a polish do you want? I have heard that you don't want a really smooth polish on the intake side. Would an 80 grit sanding wheel be smooth enough? Or should I go smoother? Alright thanks for all of the help.

Heres a few pic of carbide for alium. I would suggest you start with short shanks for a while.then work your way to the longer shanks.the more flutes the less agressive. make sure you get aluim cutters. the last one in pic is for cast iron, see cross section

I used # 3 and #4 to do my lower and heads #4 gave a very good finish. I was not going to get involved in messy polishing.

Where can I find those bits? I used an iron one and the only problem was that they liked to clog and I had to keep using oil on the bit.

Ok thanks blue. I will go and start looking for some bits. I am excited. I am planning on calling a salvage yard and maybe getting a junk intake to practice on. Then hopefully do a half ways decent job on mine so I can remove them and sell them for some decent money.
