Pt61 turbo, 8.8 rear end with 3.73 gears....good combo????


i have a a stock v6 mustang im looking to get a pt61 turbo and a 8.8 rear end with 3.73 gears. i was looking to see what everyone thought of the product and if this would even be a good set up. i want a daily driver but still have that get up and go. if it is a good set up/ good turbo would i need to upgrade internals or would i be ok for a bit....ur help would be awesom thanks

Ok, well for a turbo you would want to go with maybe some 3.27 or 3.55s. That way you will be in boost a lot longer. Thus making more power for longer and going faster.

As far as the stock internals. A properly tuned and built turbo with supporting fuel mods can easily support 350+rwhp. Turbos are pretty nice on motors when compared to superchargers. They are not as rough on the internals.

ok awesome i was thinking 3.55s but i wasnt for sure!! u know much bout the New Precision Garrett Pt61 .81 turbine a/r? and 39lb fuel injectors with a gt40 fuel pump should do the trick?????

I do not know much about turbos. You could see hopefully someone like ESG will come on here.

i c i c.....well if u c him send him my way..thanks for the info on the gears, ill go with the 3.55 i think they come stock at 3.31 so id like to have just a lilll bit more i think not to much.

nice...... what size fuel injectors would u upgrade to? and is the gt40 a good pump to go with? STREET KIT this is the kit im thinking bout goin with. id like to c what ya thought. if i remember right ur the one that showed me the pipeline link..its the same turbo just 1500 bucks cheaper!!! the only thing the other kit has that this one doesnt is 39 pph fuel injectors......and btw what is the different between 39lb and 39 pph...r they the same thing just said different of r the just totally different measurments???

You have a 2005, you have to go with the pipeline kit... The other kit is for 94-2004.

yea let me know how it turns out. im thinkin bout goin with the 3.55 gears to have more power from the turbo but im still unsure ive heard sides from both so it would be a great help to know how urs came out..

i didnt even think bout checking the year lol damn i was hoping the cheaper one would work lol. looks like pipeline is the one im goin for.....any other turbos i should look at???

If you get the GN flange, its a gn upgrade... Otherwise its just a turbo like any other
