My advice is enjoy what you have. If you really want a V8 than save up and find a good Fox or SN 95. I found a 95 GT convert for under 3k. It needs some little things but still runs good with 150 + miles. It is however my project car, so i don't need to drive it every day and it can sit while I fix things. I just took my 07 pony on two trips to L.A. this month mostly on US101, 800mi. round trip each. The first was me and my wife, plenty of room, power, (cruise at 80 per) and over 25 mpg. Last week me, my wife and my two grown up kids, a car crammed with luggage, and fighting a headwind on the return trip got 24mpg. at 75 mph. In between, I took a trip down to Carmel/Monterrey area with the four of us in the GT with the top down (Got to love sunny California winters!) and got 21 mpg. Nothing wrong with a V6.

Ive seen '00 GT's out here for as low as 4000. they sell almost immediately, but it happens.
I on the other hand, would rather buy a fox body for 2500 and dump the rest into mods
