2002 V6 is not what i expected

I bought a 2002 mustang v6 because of financial reasons and I need to find easy to install performance parts. I am a noob. I have already looked into: 1999-04 Mustang Magnaflow V6 Cat-Back Exhaust System at stage3motorsports.com
Mustang V6 Cold Air Intake Kit at AmericanMuscle.com
I am willing to spend up to $750 and so far these are the best options I have found after four months of searching. From what I have read these should boost me to a total of 240 hp for $576.

Sounds like you might need the savings account mod.

Someone lied to you. You might see 170 rwhp (about 200 crank hp) with those mods. It takes some money to make these cars respectable. Dual exhaust will add around 5 hp and a cai 2-3. With that $750 I would go ahead and do your gears and a t-lok. You won't reach 240 unless you dig into the engine ( P&P heads, cam, windstar or p&p intakes)

Then I would only have 210 hp. Would those parts at least get me the deep rumbling sound of a GT?

Nothing is going to get you the deep rumbling sound of a GT, besides a GT!! It will give you the mild-gurgle of a v6?

Our stock hp to the crank (which really doesn't matter since its not what you're getting to the ground) is 190hp. The items you listed might add 7 (I rounded u to 10) which would be around 200 hp. Our sixxers wont ever sound like an odd firing gt (our engines are even firing engines). True duals with long tubes and a chambered muffler of your choice (MAC, Flow 40s, thrush are a few) will get your idle similar to a gt. . . .kind of.

Gears and a t-lok or some type of closed differential.

i don't know why when you're after v8 sound and power you'd spend money on mods for a v6. just drive it and save up til you can afford a v8. in the end, when you trade in your v6 at some point for a v8 model, you'll wish you'd put that money towards a v8 car. just my .02c

obviously I couldn't afford a v8 4 months ago and I still can't now, it will be a few years before i can afford a v8. The real reason I bought this is because this is the best looking car for under $7000 now I want to make it sound powerful with ought spending more than one grand. The cheapest v8 costs on average 2 thousand more and has 15000 more miles on it.
All i need is to get this car to seem like a GT to the common person.
such as dual exhaust etc.

the closest youl get to a v8 sound is by gettind long tube headers with an H tube dual exhaust with flowmaster orig 40's with a cold air intake AND a cam shaft. all toll will cost u about 1500$ if you can do the work your self. take out the cam and ur at about 800+

well instead off dumping money into a car you don't and won't be worth squat save up and in a few years trade it in for a nice gt... with all the money you saved buy a couple of mods to get you started...and no offense but unless your talking to a complete dumbass eveyone will know its a sixxer... but if you do want to make it go fast get gears, t-lok, and a 75-100 shot and BAM! sleeper

Well to be honest (from my experience) 75% of people can't tell and don't care if a car is a V6 or a GT. And who are you trying to impress by making them think you have a GT over a V6? It's not like either one is a huge upgrade, they're both basically the same class of car. And I don't want to hear it...the truth is most people don't know or care....If you're doing something to it, do it because you want to. I did stuff with my car because it's what I had and it's easier to do stuff to it as I go than just sell, get a GT, and then save up and mod it. A turbo six running say 10-12 lb. of boost will beat most GTs you'll run into anywhere...but you'll sure surprise them if they don't know.

I would lightly mod it and save for a car with a tad more grunt. For the $1500 you will spend in exhaust and intake mods on a 2002v6 may bring you up to 180rwhp. another $2000 spent in the fist place would have had you at about 230rwhp stock.

Not that v6's can't be made fast, they indeed can. It just costs. Same goes for the GT and Cobra.

Hell don't feel too bad.. I just dropped 9k on a BMW and your v6 can hang with it stock for stock. lol

Besides.. a stock 99-04 GT is nothing to brag about these days. They are complete dogs of the v8 world.

and ok...so you're complaining about it being $2k more, but are willing to instantly dump $750 into the car you have? 15000 miles more generally isn't going to make that much difference. Just about the same chance of something going wrong and you should always do the basic tune ups when you buy any car.

yea the best growl your hear from a v6 is more like a chiwauwau sp? lol but good luck!
Id go with gears and tLok to start

but too be honest you can get a used gt for same price as a used v6 nowadays, people who once could afford the GT are losing their jobs and trying to get money quick. My car is about to sell and Im thinking about getting a GT for my selling price...
