Then what do you need to be faster? People on here with full bolt ons say they can't beat a 99-04GT but they can run with them.

a full bolt on v6 with gears and a tune could take a gt. Some internals work may be needed

you can beat a gt with bolt ons and NA dont assume s/c and turbos and nitrous is the way to go. obviously mod for mod the GT will eat a v6 but as an under dog i get to laugh when i beat you

Still how much would you think all that would cost and installed including the internals? All that must cost clear over 7k

thats 4500, and if you really want fun the left over 2500 you could get a power pak. At that point you would embarrass GT's

I hate to say this on a mustang site, but...if you buy a used V8 I would make it an ls1...if you do want two stangs get a cobra, or a mach...either way I would keep the 6 as a DD and use one of those platforms for modding

Because to equal the power of the 99+ GT you'll need either nitrous turbo charged or supercharged. Which will cost about 6k installed but you'll also need a new back end and forged internals that alone cost about 2k their is much more you'll probably need. Forgot to tell you nitrous is much cheaper and would cost under 1k installed. Not very good choice though plus you'll need forged internals and probably a new back end still so it still cost alot.

The money you save from the gas difference isn't that much... you can't make a GT look stupid cheaply. Takes alot of money to get as fast as a GT, I once thought the same thing as you, but after finding prices and HP adds... it really would cost alot installation alone will kill your wallet.

I'm going to keep my v6 for about 3-4 years. I'm planing on some mods, but I'm not going to put over 2k in the car.... it's just not worth it.

but don't get me wrong from what I read you can get your stang going pretty fast, but you won't make a GT look stupid with out a big wallet.
It doesn't take super/turbo/nitrous to get faster than a 99/04 GT
a 4.2L engine ported will blow away a GT
takes $500-$2k or a lil less to make it as fast as a GT
and you'll make a GT look retarded with just the amount saved from a year in insurance and Gas saving...
if you'd like to think your right and im wrong i can go on for days about this subject..
your already wrong now

and if you were smart...you wouldnt spend money on your v6 now...just save for a GT....so i can already tell this debate will be an easy one

not even only 1 cobra dominated compitition and it didnt even have a competitor because they didnt make camaros anymore, firebirds or TA's...
So who knows what whould have happend, the ls1 beat ford every year vs year

my theory is:
its cheaper to make a V6 take off 5 seconds on their E/t for less money then itd be for a GT to take off 5 second on its e/t

thus meaning its cheaper to make a v6 runs 11s then a GT to run 9's

also i think its cheaper to get a V6s to run 10s with less money then it would take for a GT to run 10s without the use of nitrous

Dont get me wrong im all for modding a V6...as you can see I love mine and wouldnt trade it...plus its kinda cool to be the unique person modding a V6 stang, but I did say cobra or mach as far as 4.6 stangs if your modding and not a GT...I would love an LS1 though...ill someday have a V8

actually for bolt ons you wont need to re-do the internals...so for $2k or less you got a faster car
but for what faleen is saying heres the price add up w/shipping
long tubes-$350
h pipe-$150
cat back$350
gears and t-lok plus install- $600-$650
cai-$40
UD pulleys-$270
internals-$1,500
install-$700 if you dont do it yourself
total-$4k (to be exact-$4010)assuming you dont install the internals yourself and ive seen full forged internals for $1,200
which you dont even need to do for just a bolt on set up so really we take out $2,300 for the internal work and we have $1710

so yea CLEAR OVER $7k...like way way over right? Im guessing you failed every single one of your math classes and it a rock against your head for fun?
cuz theres about a $3,000+ gap of shit you missed

AB's car with full bolt ons can take GTs with out a good tune..put down$100 for a good tune and still for under $2k you have a faster car then a GT...
did you skip school since you were in oh...idk 2nd grade?

Lol, will all that money spent can a full bolt on GT take my friend stock z28?
- Theirs always something faster

Anyway
[as gotten from cars.com, and don't give me any junk about talking dealers down this and that this is base price of the cars at the time. Just because you found an 8k gt i don't CARE!]

GT price(23.0)+full bolt ons =
V6 price(17.5)+(6k[single turbo/8.8]) = GT stock Price
