trick tuner
Ok, so I have a couple questions. I purchased my tune from joe at trick tuners. I am filling out the sheet for the info. Ok well my question is which octane should I go with? I am going to run a DD that has 3.73s,cai,udp,dual exhaust, windstar upper, ported lower with imrcs removed. I am curious of how much of a difference in hp there would be between an 89 and a 91 octane tune? Also on the free retunes say i go with an 89 octane tune now. then i get a mod down the road that will allow me to get my free retune, can i change the octane say i want to pay the little extra and get a 91 octane tune?

use 91 or 93, whichever is in your area.. mostly here its all just 91. You will get more power/gas mileage out of better gas for the extra dollar or 2 it costs per tank.

With Joe's tunes it requires that you run 87 octane; force a corn cob into your gas tank filler weekly, and cut out your roof and install a solar panel. This way the power comes from the sun instead of the battery.
![]() Seriously though.. run the higher octane tune.

Ok, I am I figured it out and it is prolly cheaper due to better mpg. Ok next question, I am filling out the info on the tune and it asks RWHP and RWTQ what should I put? I have never dynoed my car? Should I make educated guess?

Go with 91 octane unless 93 is available in your area. When you look at the gas prices between 89 and 93 octane, it looks like a lot. But when it's all said and done, you only end up paying like an extra $2.00 or so per fill-up. Personally I think the gains from it are worth the extra money. Plus people get all confused when they see me hit the 93 octane button on the pump and when people bitch about gas prices, I mention that I pay $0.20 more per gallon than they do and I don't go around bitching about it.
