Head Porting

I need some tips on porting the heads, I know the intake is pretty straight forward, but the bowl work and valve area seams pretty hard.

Everybody says it's not a good idea to do them yourself if it's your first time or you can't afford to buy another set if you mess them up. Or they just won't flow well. BTW i may still do mine on my own, depending on how much money I have when I want to do it. Just go slow and don;t do too much since you're inexperienced.

I would not get to crazy. You could simply try to smooth them out. And then smooth out the bowl. Make sure to stay away from the valve seats and guide areas. And make sure to do your valve job after doing the bowl work. I think most people just simply try to smooth them out. I would not go to crazy because you can always send them away to someone more experienced and have them take more out. SSMS heads are pretty crazy especially their BV heads they flow some pretty good numbers.

That is all I would do. Just smooth them out and if you see any areas that look like they are a restriction I would try to smooth them out or remove them. I am no expert and this is all just from what I have read about it.

But you also want to keep them in the bounds of the gaskets.
